Even better, sit still for 20 minutes with no focus whatsoever for your attention. Then try it for 30 or 40…Much will bubble up from what’s already inside you. I think we try to cram moremoremoremore into what are already overcrowded and tired brains — and others’.

I can relate growing up a quiet child, although I lack the keen ability to read body language. I think my mother was a bit horrified by my quiet ways since she has a strong extrovert personality and tried to change my ways.

Writing is a great outlet. Enjoyed your post.

P.S. Thanks for recommending me to REI north. I applied there and gave it my all, but they really kinda did me about like your story there involving Habitat for Humanity.

You’re not alone in the job hunt, buddy. I don’t know if I’m doing anything wrong or what, but I’ve applied to like 35 jobs this calendar year and haven’t gotten one yet. I’ve felt gypped out of positions that are perfect for me, too.

I fully agree. Laying in a hammock on a warm spring or summer day can really change my mood. Even though I don’t live anywhere close to a tropical paradise, I feel like I’m there when I’m in my hammock. My family spends many nights sleeping in the hammock in the backyard. Everyone should have a hammock.

I know what you mean about changes of location–even tiny ones. I moved 1.5 miles up the street to Hyde Park for the summer, and I already feel like I’m in a different world I hope the job works out, but CO, WY and AK all sound awesome!
